FalconEye certified for 100’ minimum decision height

Good news, 8X operators! The FalconEye Combined Vision System has achieved full certification and operational credit for a 100-foot minimum decision height. This will allow pilots to make precision approaches to airfields lacking ground-based navigational aids, greatly increasing airfield access to more airports in adverse weather conditions. All of which means that Falcons equipped with FalconEye will provide even greater flexibility and safety.

And the news is great!

FalconEye has been getting rave reviews lately. In an extensive Aviation Week article, Fred George calls FalconEye a “leap forward” in situational awareness and writes that he’s never flown with “a system that’s more advanced.” Meanwhile on AINTV, you can get a pilot’s eye view of FalconEye in action. Check out their amazing video as editor Matt Thurber puts the system through its paces while making a difficult low-visibility landing.

A record-breaking flight to South America

On its way from Teterboro to São Paulo for the 2018 Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (LABACE), the Falcon 8X recently made a bit of history by setting a new speed record. Over a flight lasting 8 hours and 45 minutes, the 8X achieved an average speed of Mach 0.86. Not only was it a new record for the Falcon flagship, it set the stage for an outstanding show during which visitors got to see, not only the 8X and Falcon 2000LXS, but a virtual demo of the ultra widebody Falcon 6X.
