We were asked by a reporter recently about how Dassault extends “tribal knowledge” to new models of aircraft. This is a new corporate buzzword meaning accumulated expertise specific to an organization. We indeed extend tribal knowledge into new aircraft, for example when we incorporate fighter technology into the Digital Flight Control System for the new Falcon 10X.

Around the world and around the clock, the Dassault service organization is constantly on the move, shipping parts and servicing Falcon jets. Jean Kayanakis is responsible for it all and is leading a major expansion of Falcon support. He is very much our crew chief and knows what it takes to maintain a high-tempo, high-quality operation. Jean started his career at Dassault in 1990, supporting fighter prototypes. Over the years, he rose steadily through the ranks, and then transitioned from Dassault Aviation to become General Manager of Dassault Falcon Service (DFS), the largest European-based aircraft service company.
