Dassault Expands Falcon Presence in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific Region

Dassault Aviation is acquiring ExecuJet’s maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business at Subang Airport in a move that will considerably reinforce its aftermarket support capability in Southeast Asia.

ExecuJet Malaysia is part of ExecuJet’s global MRO network, which Dassault agreed to purchase earlier this year. The network includes operations in Africa, Europe and the Middle East as well as the Asia Pacific region.

The 64,000-square-foot Subang facility is the largest business aviation MRO in Malaysia and supports aircraft from a number of different manufacturers, based both within and outside the region. Following its acquisition by Dassault the facility is in the process of adding Falcons to its already impressive list of supported models.

ExecuJet Malaysia will provide Falcon customers a choice of service facilities and complement Dassault’s pre-existing support network in the region, including authorised third party service centers and a regional sales office in Kuala Lumpur.

“Malaysia is an important center for business aviation and our largest Southeast Asian market. It is expected to achieve further growth in the future,” said Dassault Aviation Asia Pacific President Jean-Michel Jacob. “To anticipate this growth, Dassault Aviation decided it was important to have a factory-owned service center in the region.”

Jacob was speaking ahead of this year’s Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA), which opens next week. The Dassault Aviation Group will have a strong presence at LIMA, including the company’s Falcon 8X flagship aircraft , which will be on display at the show.

The 6,450nm/12,000km range Falcon 8X can fly from Kuala Lumpur to London non-stop. Its combination of range, short takeoff and landing capability and low operating cost—inherited from the popular Falcon 7X—is generating strong interest throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Ten of the big new trijets are already operating in the region.

Respected Name in Bizjet MRO

ExecuJet Malaysia is certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration, European Aviation Safety Agency, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia and many other civil aviation authorities around the world. They are approved to work on both Malaysian and foreign registered aircraft.

Under Dassault ownership, ExecuJet MRO Services will maintain its separate identity and leadership team and will continue serving aircraft of all types.

“ExecuJet has been a pillar of business aviation for nearly 30 years and has a well deserved reputation for providing high-quality MRO service,” said Dassault Aviation senior vice president worldwide service network, Geoff Chick.  “Adding Falcon capabilities to ExecuJet’s portfolio will  help ensure that current and future Falcon customers—many of whom have mixed fleets—will continue to receive world-class after-sale service for many  years to come.”

“At the same time, non-Falcon customers who rely on ExecuJet for their service needs will continue to have full access to ExecuJet facilities and be supported by the same team of people that served them well in the past. “The acquisition of ExecuJet’s MRO business is part of a global commitment by Dassault Aviation to further reinforce and expand its already strong customer support network. Another recent step in this direction was the purchase of the MRO activities of TAG Aviation.
