Highlights Product Support Commitment to the Region
Dassault Aviation will exhibit its very long range Falcon 8X large cabin trijet at the Avalon Australian International Air Show, which opens in Melbourne on March 25.
Together with the ultra widebody Falcon 6X, which entered service in late 2023, and the ultra long range Falcon 10X, currently in development, the 8X highlights the company’s Asia Pacific strategy, offering the most efficient and capable aircaft on the market, backed by a large product support network.
“Over the past decade we have methodically expanded sales and support in the region,” said Carlos Brana, Executive Vice President, Civil aircraft, Dassault Aviation. “Great aircraft plus great service is a winning formula.”
The Falcon 8X on display will be the new-look version featuring a sleek and stylish interior derived from that of the new Falcon 6X. Its high-speed streaming and video conferencing capability keeps passengers connected almost everywhere on the planet.
The 8X is equipped with advanced digital flight controls derived from fighter aircraft and offers unrivaled handling and best-in-class fuel efficiency. A big jet with 6,450 nautical mile (11,945 km) range and Mach 0.90 cruise speed, it can still land at an approach speed of 107 knots, slipping into short runways that dot Australian.
Dassault will promote the 5,500 nm (10,200 km) Falcon 6X, which features the largest cabin cross section in business aviation (and a level of comfort to match), and the even larger 7,500 nm (13,890 km) Falcon 10X, planned to enter service in 2027.
Regional Support Expansion
In recent years, Dassault has expanded its Customer Service footprint in Australia and Asia. It acquired the ExecuJet MRO Services network in 2019, with locations in Syndey, Melbourne, and Perth.
ExecuJet MRO recently opened a brand new 149,500 sq ft (13,900 sq m) service center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It has become a major regional hub for business aviation services, acting as a factory service center for Dassault Aviation and supporting other brands.
Long history Down Under
Dassault has had a long and close relationship with Australia. The country is the second largest market for Falcon business jets in the Asia Pacific region, after China. Dassault Mirage fighters helped defend Australian skies almost until the 1990s, while Dassault business jets from the original Falcon 20 onwards have long been used for government VIP transport. The Royal Australian Air Force today operates three Falcon 7X’s in VIP service.
