First M&O of the Season, A Top-Line Look

Even if one of our M&O topics this year is AI, we have no intention of abandoning the human touch. We kicked off our M&O season in Paris on April 2 with more than 600 operators, partners and Dassault attendees. The tour now shifts to Phoenix on May 6 and 7 and then on to Nashville and São Paulo.

I wanted to use the Paris occasion to share some highlights and statistics that may interest you. For starters, the Falcon fleet has surpassed 20 million flight hours—a sign of reliability, robustness, and very active fleet activity.

Falcon durability is legendary. One hundred twenty Falcon 20s remain in service, including serial number 20, built in 1966. The Falcon 20 is emblematic of Dassault’s robust design and in fact borrowed many construction features right off the fighter production line.

In total, 2,150 Falcons are in service worldwide; 50 percent are EASy models, and the rest are legacy models all receiving the same high level of support.

The Falcon 6X entry into service is the highlight of the year. It now operates in the U.S., Canada, Switzerland, Turkey, Poland and UAE. More than 20 service centers are trained and ready to support it, and these numbers grow by the month.

The aircraft is also getting very positive feedback. Charter operator Stefano Albinati in Geneva reported to the Paris M&O audience by video that his team is seeing high charter activity, and his customers are noting the quiet cabin and fuel efficiency, in particular.

Several 6X operators and our own service center staff have received invaluable hands-on training through the Falcon Training Academy. This Part 147-approved “graduate school” is an excellent resource for us and has now trained more than 1,500 technicians.

We’ve been focusing on AOG response with new resources, and I see consistent improvement in this area. GoTeams are being reinforced, as you may have read in my previous post. The U.S. now has a fully dedicated Mobile Repair Team ready to roll on “hot standby.” The EMEAI team (I for India) has over 50 Dassault MRO technicians devoted to AOG response. In 2024, we resolved 900 AOGs and flew 120 Falcon Airborne Support missions, coordinated from the Falcon Command Center.

The MRO network is also growing. A new Dubai facility opened 2023. Kuala Lumpur’s major new center in 2024. Melbourne, FL will open this summer, with capacity for 15 aircraft. Melbourne will add needed service capacity in the Americas. Meanwhile, our spares inventory now tops $1 billion as we continue strengthening the supply chain.

One of the great things about these sessions is that we provide updates, but we also have a lot of support team members on site to engage directly with operators and take their feedback. And we do so not only in a conference center but in less formal interactions, including something very special this year: a cruise down the Seine from the conference center along the route of the opening ceremonies for the recent magnificent Olympic Games and past many of the Olympic event sites held in the heart of Paris.

Our destination was a former palace, the Conciergerie, for a reception. More than a party, it was a Falcon Family gathering and great opportunity to reinforce the ties that lead to a strongly cooperative spirit between operators and their support organization.

Now this valuable program crosses the Atlantic.  See you in Phoenix!
