Opportunity knocks

Saint-Cloud, France

At the risk of repeating myself…here we go again, with another acquisition that’s going to not only expand the Falcon service center network overall, but consolidate our base in Europe. On July 2, we officially announced that Dassault Aviation will acquire the business aviation service activities of RUAG in Geneva and Lugano, Switzerland.

RUAG has been a Falcon authorized service center in Geneva for some time. When their parent company decided to sell its operations in Geneva and Lugano, the opportunity was too good to pass up. It was an ideal way to continue our MRO development strategy in a top European aviation hub. As an added bonus, the purchase included RUAG’s Geneva FBO.

With this good news and our acquisitions of TAG Maintenance and ExecuJet MRO services, it’s quite clear that the Falcon customer experience has reached new heights. (Especially in the Alps.) And we expect this upward trend to continue.

I should mention that for now, RUAG will operate under its own name and continue to support both Falcons and other OEM platforms. But eventually, the RUAG MRO facilities in Geneva and Lugano will become Dassault-branded entities.

For more perspective, consider the numbers. We will have more than 2,200 people worldwide dedicated to Falcon MRO, with capacity exceeding 1,800,000 man hours. And as you know, it’s a highly skilled and dedicated workforce. Look at it this way; our customers chose Falcon for a reason. Now they have many more.

On that positive note, I’ll say so long for a while. Enjoy the rest of your summer, wherever that may be. And look for another post in September.
