The Falcon 6X is a technology-driven production. And thanks to advanced virtual reality tools, Dassault engineers and suppliers can collaborate on development worldwide. The new 6X design makes use of upgraded, smart technologies from the 7X, 8X and Dassault fighters, including the Digital Flight Control System, the latest EASy avionics suite and the revolutionary FalconEye® Combined Vision System.

SHAPING THE FUTURE
Dassault Aviation’s new Falcon 6X is nearing initial assembly as the ultra widebody twinjet continues progressing on schedule. In preparation for assembly of the first 6X aircraft, fuselage components will arrive in 1st Q 2020 at Dassault’s Bordeaux-Merignac facility from Dassault and partner sub-assembly sites. The front, main and rear fuselage sections of the first aircraft have been assembled in Dassault’s Biarritz plant. Final assembly is set for early 2020, first flight in 2021 and entry into service in 2022.
The first, full 6X wing assemblies are being completed with upper and lower panels built in Dassault’s Seclin facility in northern France. Using specialized, state-of-the-art milling machines designed specifically for Dassault, the manufacturing process is highly efficient, accurate and ultra high-speed. The wing panels were shipped earlier this year to Martignas for assembly using advanced, precision robotics. The fully completed wing is due to be attached to the fuselage at Dassault’s Bordeaux-Merignac facility as soon as 1st Q 2020.
FULL SPEED AHEAD
Testing of the Pratt & Whitney Canada engines is hitting all its milestones. Through September, six PW812D development engines had accumulated more than 1,200 hours of runtime. The test engines have also completed several critical, high-risk evaluations. The production PW812D has received its integrated nacelle from Collins Aerospace for mounting on the Flying Test Bed for the second and final flight test campaign. In all, the P&WC geared turbofan (GTF) core at the heart of the Dassault-specific PW812D has logged more than 14,000 hours on the bench and is shared by 16 different engine applications.
